Myrtleford Bush Market (5 January)

The annual Bush Market has been a fixture on the Myrtleford calendar for more than 30 years. Featuring over 100 stalls with everything from arts and crafts, clothing, jewellery, electronic gadgets, tools, children’s novelties, plants, local produce, and food and wine, as well as the annual Rotary Book Fair, there is fun for the whole family! Browse the markets, enjoy live entertainment, face painting, jumping castle and other kid’s activities, then stay for lunch in the shady food court area in Queen Street.

Dederang Picnic Races (6 January)
Dederang Race Course, Kiewa Valley Highway, Dederang
The Mount Beauty & District Community Bank Dederang Race Day is a family focused day out that has been run at Dederang for over 150 years. Enjoy great horse racing with colourful bookies - as well at TAB facilities - children’s rides and activities, the famous Madman’s Mile, Fashions on the Field, live music, tug o’ war, great local food on offer as well as bar facilities. Featuring a six-race program, including the Milestone Dederang Cup, you will experience grass roots racing at its very best in Dederang. Bright Mountain Film Tour (28 Dec, 30 Dec, 4 Jan, 5 Jan, 6 Jan)

The BMFT is a celebration of mountain culture and those who embrace it. Over five nights and five locations, the best adventure films from around the world are showcased amongst the alpine communities of North East Victoria. This year the tour will feature some epic, home-grown Aussie adventures and some awesome female adventures to recognise the diversity in adventure sports. Bright has become the epicentre of mountain sports with visitors from around the world enjoying everything the town and surrounding area has to offer. The BMFT is not just a film festival, it is a community celebration. The films are handpicked by a panel of local enthusiasts, all experts in their related fields of filmmaking, mountain sports and tourism.
Screening in Bright (28 December and 6 January), Mount Beauty (30 December), Dinner Plain (4 January) and Harrietville (5 January).
Doors open 6.00pm, films start at 7.00pm

The annual Book Fair, run by the Rotary Club of Myrtleford, is the place to be for all book lovers! Thousands of fiction and non-fiction books covering many subjects will be looking for new homes, most priced between $1 and $2, with all funds raised going towards sending local youths to the Portsea Camp for disadvantaged children. Come grab a bargain and help a disadvantaged child at the same time.

Farm Connection: A Journey to Wellbeing
